Experience of participating in the 125th Canton Fair

The 124th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) closed on the afternoon of November 4. This year's Canton Fair was held against the background of the Sino-US trade war and the greater fluctuation of the RMB exchange rate. In the face of internal and external pressures, this year's Canton Fair closely focuses on the policy of "seeking progress while maintaining stability, and innovative development". Our company has completed the exhibition with the most positive attitude, receiving every customer who comes to our booth. It displays our company's various new and old products and company culture, and contributes to the further development of the company's foreign trade.

The number of foreign buyers attending the 125th Canton Fair dropped slightly. 270,701 buyers from 215 countries and regions attended the 124th Canton Fair, a year-on-year decrease of 1.11% compared to the 2017 Autumn Fair.

The number of buyers from various continents was 105,692 in Asia, accounting for 55.68%; 35,767 in Europe, accounting for 18.84%; 27,696 in Americas, accounting for 14.59%; 14,547 in Africa, accounting for 7.66%; and 6,110 in Oceania, accounting for 3.22%.

In terms of attendance from all continents, Africa increased by 1.15%, America decreased by 0.59%, Asia decreased by 0.82%, Europe decreased by 2.93%, and Oceania decreased by 2.95%.

In 2017, my country's top ten trading partner countries and regions accounted for 63.71% of the total attendance. There were 84,578 buyers from countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”, accounting for 44.56%, a year-on-year increase of 0.16%.

The top 20 countries and regions in attendance accounted for 64.76% of the total attendance, a year-on-year increase of 3.85 percentage points. The top 10 countries and regions in attendance are: Hong Kong, the United States, India, South Korea, Thailand, Russia, Taiwan, Malaysia, Japan and Indonesia.

There were 49,863 old buyers who attended the meeting more than 10 times, basically the same year-on-year.

At this exhibition, our company received more than 100 business cards from merchants. The number of visiting customers has decreased compared with the previous year, but the quality of customers is higher. Merchants are mainly distributed in South America, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, North Africa, Southeast Asia and other regions.

During the Canton Fair, one customer has reached an intention to cooperate, and several other customers are following up. I believe that through follow-up tracking, more customers will establish cooperative relations with our company.

Generally speaking, the results of this session of the Canton Fair are quite satisfactory, and we will strive for more results after the meeting.
